Lavin is found in the Lower Engadine, directly at the Inn, with Ftan approximately 400 meters above it. From here, the valley can be explored on foot or by mountainbike.
Since autumn 1999, Lavin has been connected with Klosters in the Prättigau through the 19 km long Vereina tunnel.
