Scuol - more than a spa
Together with Tarasp and Vulpera, Scuol is part of a popular health, recreation and sports resort and is the biggest and most important spa in the Lower Engadine valley. Scuol has always been a center of the Lower Engadine bookcraft and is well-known for its prints and bibles. Well worth a visit is the Lower Engadine Museum in the so-called abbey Chà Gronda.
Until 1956, when the cable car to Motta-Naluns was inaugurated, tourism mainly took place in summer. Now winter tourism has become another important economic branch, and numerous skiing lifts have been built. In summer, the mountain station of the cable car is a good starting point for a number of lovely high walks (e.g. to Alp Laret and down to Ftan).
