This region thrives on its natural contrasts. While the cantons of Jura and Neuchâtel as well as the Bernese Jura are situated, as the name already tells us, in the Jura mountains, the canton of Fribourg covers the Mittelland and the Pre-Alps.
In the Jura, you will find scenic elements such as high plains, pine woods and farmhouses made of bright limestone, as well as traces of a thriving watchmaking industry.
On the shores of Lake Neuchâtel, you can enjoy a wonderful Alpine panorama from the Säntis to Mont Blanc - best with a glass of the marvellous local wine. The canton of Fribourg offers, apart from the historic old town centers of Murten and Fribourg, a lovely pre-Alpine landscape that invites you to take a rest or a walk.
